Becoming a Planter

Is God Calling You to Plant a Church in the San Francisco Bay Area?

The San Francisco Bay Area consists of nine counties, 101 cities, and comprises 7,000 square miles. With 7.5 million residents, it is the fifth largest metropolitan area in the United States. Over one-third of the population of San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland are foreign born. We are connected to the world through tourism, technology, and education. The number one place in America for cultural creatives is the Bay Area. At the same time, we bottom out in terms of people who profess faith in Christ.

Missions-minded? Ready for adventure? Longing for change?

This is a great place to start a new church!

We passionately believe that God loves the San Francisco Bay Area, and we love it, too. It seems like everyone here wants to save something – the environment, hurting families, endangered species, enslaved humans … the world in general. This rallying around “salvation” beckons to those of us who claim to follow Jesus. We are challenged to stand up for what we believe: that through Christ, God really does have a plan for saving the world. One good way to do this is by starting new churches. On these pages, you will meet some men and women who are church starters, and you will be introduced to places and peoples among whom we hope to see new churches started. Check back regularly for updates and pray about how you can get involved or contact us for more information.

Anyone who loves God, loves people and has an appropriate sense of self can be involved in church planting in some way. We would love to talk with you and help you discern where you best fit.
